Democratization, Participation, and Inclusion in Kenya

Partners
DIPD, Centre for Multiparty Democracy Kenya (CMD-K), Mzalendo Trust, Netherland's Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), The Oslo Center

DIPD is part of a partnership supported by the European Union to strengthen the inclusion of women, youth and people with disabilities in the Kenyan democracy.

In 2010, Kenya adopted a constitution that was supposed to further the participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in the political life and in the parties. There is still a way to go before the parties fulfil the constitutions ambition of strengthening the political inclusion.
